Sixth Thomas Froggatt Memorial Rugby Match (Dec 2021)

Fraser McNee (G 2010-15) has kindly sent in the following:

The annual Thomas Froggatt Memorial Day was rekindled on the 28th of December 2021 following the disappointment of cancellation in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The long-anticipated rugby game started the day, taking a different but no less entertaining approach. The two teams saw members of Egremont Rugby Union both past and present take the pitch, with numerous Old St Beghians taking the field in a Sharks (u30’s) vs Bulls (ov30’s) fashion. In traditional bleach green style, both teams played an exciting brand of rugby with the Over 30’s taking a triumphant victory after 80 minutes. The large following of spectators was then joined by the players in the clubhouse to raise a glass for Thomas and to enjoy a night of music and some less than impressive karaoke! Throughout the day collections were made in support of the Calvert Trust amounting to a total of £710. Thank you to all involved, we hope to see you all in 2022.”
